A “Blue Shirt” Reunion was held on Thursday, September 15, 2011 at Hangar 39.
Envision Edmonton invited volunteers from the 2010 Petition Campaign to join Envision Edmonton for a BBQ and
reunion at Hangar 39 on September 15, 2010. Many of the volunteers who worked on the 2010 campaign are still in
touch with Envision Edmonton on a regular basis today. Many new friends were made that summer.
The BBQ started at 3:30 pm for those that can attend a little earlier in the day. For those that joined us after they got
off of work, the grills were still hot when they arrived. Many wore their Blue T-Shirt from the 2010 campaign.
After the BBQ, a bus was available for people who wished to attend the PC Leadership Forum at the Radisson South
in Edmonton. Volunteers were given the opportunity to submit questions to the Provincial Leadership candidates
asking a question on their position on the Edmonton City Centre Airport. At the end of the forum, the buses took the
volunteers back to Hangar 39. About 50 volunteers attended the forum after the BBQ event.
A good time was had by all, although disappointed by the Progressive Conservative Leadership Candidates
and their stance on the Edmonton City Centre Airport and lack of will to weigh in on a controversial subject.
