Envision Edmonton will be hosting its first ever Curling Funspeil for curlers and non-curlers alike.
This winter, Envision Edmonton will be hosting a curling funspiel to bring supporters and members together for a day
of sports, fun and fine food. The event will be held at the Avonair Curling Club on Princess Elizabeth Avenue in
Edmonton, only minutes from the Edmonton City Centre Airport.
On February 11, 2012 sixteen teams, some with little experience and some with no experience in the sport at all, will
converge on the curling club. The day will consist of 4 end games, and be a 3 event tournament with the first draw
going at 11:45 am. At the end of it all, a banquet will be held in the Avonair lounge where at least one team will vow
that they are going to enter a league next year. Next year, they will say the same thing again, forgetting they made
that pact last year. Some will say they used muscles they haven’t used before and feel the effects the next day. No
matter what the discussion, everyone will be in agreement on one thing. They all had great time!
Throughout the day, a silent auction will be running for anyone that wants to bid on items donated to Envision
Edmonton. Anyone who would like to donate an item may contact Envision at email@example.com or
by calling the office at 780-454-1634.
Entries can also be made through the same email or by calling the office. You may enter as a team or individually
where we will place you on a team. The cost to enter is $75 per player and includes ice rental and the banquet at
the end of the day. Banquet only tickets may be purchased as well for $30. All prices include GST. For first time
curlers, the Avonair club has slip on shoe sliders and brooms that can be used.
Put together your team and enter today! This is going to be a day of fun times, laughter and ribbing, all mixed
in with a little food and drink. See you there!
